Katerina S. Levy, Psy.D.
NY State Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University's APA-accredited doctoral program, following a B.A. in Psychology from Michigan State University's Honors College. My predoctoral internship was completed in health psychology through the Nova Southeastern University South Florida Consortium at Broward Health Medical Center, where I provided psychodiagnostic evaluation, psychotherapy, and consultation across pediatrics, hematology/oncology, the NICU, trauma services, behavioral health, emergency medicine, palliative care, and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, training that grounded my approach in the close relationship between physical and psychological health.
I went on to complete my postdoctoral fellowship at Cohen Children's Medical Center and Zucker Hillside Hospital, part of Northwell Health, with a focus on pediatric hematology/oncology and child outpatient care. That training deepened my ability to support young people and families through some of the most difficult medical experiences a childhood can hold.
Alongside my clinical training, I've authored three children's books on coping with childhood cancer, emetophobia, and the experience of siblings adjusting to a brother or sister's medical illness, and co-authored peer-reviewed research and national conference presentations on psychosocial care in pediatric medicine. My clinical work spans the entire lifespan. I support children and adolescents navigating chronic illness and anxiety, and I work just as closely with adults facing anxiety, depression, major life transitions, and the emotional weight of illness or caregiving. That range carries through my clinical practice today, where I welcome clients of every age seeking thoughtful, evidence-based care.
In practice, I work with children, adolescents, and adults facing a range of emotional, behavioral, and health-related challenges: anxiety and depression, chronic illness and new medical diagnoses, difficult life transitions, and the broader work of building resilience and emotional well-being. I draw on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT, and tailor treatment collaboratively to each person's needs.
